My Sori ("the app") records singing practice and measures the voice. This document says what information the app keeps, where, and when it is deleted. One principle runs through it: your recordings are yours, and by default they exist only on your device. A recording is never sent to the server without your consent, and a recording you agreed to send is deleted the moment its analysis finishes — the server does not keep it.
1. Information that stays on the device
The following is stored only on the device the app is installed on and is never sent anywhere unless you agree to it.
- Recording files, analysis results, recognised lyrics, song titles, notes, tags, favourites, trim marks
- Settings (language, weekly goal, routine options, voice baseline, per-song goals, reminder time)
None of it moves to a new device by itself. The backup feature in settings lets you export it.
Processing on the device. On supported devices, separating the backing, measuring and recognising lyrics happen on the device. Lyrics are recognised with the device's own speech recognition (iOS speech recognition; Android's system recogniser in on-device mode), and the recording does not leave the app. On Android, on-device lyrics are used only when turned on in settings.
2. Information sent to the server if you agree to analysis
The first time the app opens it asks once: "Analyse recordings?" If you agree, recordings the device could not finish on its own are sent to the analysis server (or, when the device already removed the backing, that voice instead) to measure range, pitch stability and similar values. You can turn this off in settings at any time; nothing is sent from that moment on.
| Information | Kept for | Note |
|---|---|---|
| The uploaded recording (or the voice the device separated) | Deleted as soon as analysis ends | Held temporarily during analysis |
| The voice with the backing removed | Deleted as soon as the app fetches it, otherwise automatically after one day (actual deletion can take about a day more) | A copy for you to listen to |
| Recognised lyrics | Deleted after 120 minutes | Kept only on the device once fetched |
| Analysis results (measurements) and job records | Deleted after 30 days | Contain no audio |
The server does not store recordings and has no feature that identifies a person by their voice.
3. Device identifier and usage
At install the app creates one random identifier and sends it with every request to the server. It has nothing to do with your name, phone number or advertising identifiers. The server records, with it, the platform (iOS/Android), the app version and how many analyses were requested each day, in order to count a daily limit and to attach a subscription to the device. Uninstalling removes the identifier; reinstalling creates a new one.
Usage counts. The app counts how many times a few fixed things happened each day — opening the app; starting, finishing or discarding a recording; starting, finishing or failing an analysis, and how long it took; the server separating instead of the device; viewing a result, playing, listening to the voice alone, comparing takes of a song, the history, a personal record — and sends them the next day with the device identifier above. No recording, song title, lyrics or analysis result (measurement) is in them. They are used to improve the app (whether recordings and analyses finish, whether people come back) and are deleted 400 days after the day they count. Turning off "Send service-improvement info" in settings stops counting and sending from then on and deletes the counts not yet sent.
Analysis records. Each time an analysis finishes (on the device or on the server) the app sends one record of how it was done: the device type (model name), OS version and app version, the analysis version, whether the backing was separated on the device or the server and with which model, how pitch was read, whether the words were transcribed on the device or the server, how long it took, and a few summary figures (the recording's length, the number of held notes, the ends of the range, the share sung). No recording, song title, lyrics or pitch curve is in it. It is used to see on which devices analysis finishes well and where the server is still needed, and is deleted with the device identifier above after 400 days. Turning off the same "Send service-improvement info" switch stops it.
4. Signing in is optional
Everything works without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, the following is stored:
- The provider (Apple/Google) and the user identifier the provider issues
- Your e-mail address and name, only if you allow the provider to share them (Apple's "Hide My Email" is accepted as is)
- A session token (stored only as a hash; deleted after 180 days without use)
- The small settings carried by the account: weekly goal, routine options, voice baseline, per-song goals, the stem auto-keep switch
Signing in links the device you are using to the account. Recordings are not moved; they stay on the device. Signing out only removes the link; the device's data stays. Delete account in the app removes the account, its sessions and the settings attached to it on the server. Recordings and settings on the device are untouched.
5. Subscriptions
My Sori+ is paid through the App Store or Google Play. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Apple or Google and never reach the operator. The operator stores the transaction identifier (or purchase token) issued by the store, the product name, the subscription status and the expiry date. The store notifies the operator's server of renewals, cancellations and refunds. Subscription records may be kept after a subscription ends, for refund and dispute handling.
6. Processors and where data is stored
- Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud Tasks): running the analysis server and holding temporary files. Region: Tokyo (asia-northeast1).
- MongoDB Atlas: job, device, account and subscription records. Region: Tokyo.
- Apple and Google: sign-in and payments.
If you are outside Japan, the information above is transferred to Japan. No advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK or cookies are used (the usage counts in section 3 are the app's own).
7. Your rights
- Analysis uploads can be turned off in settings at any time.
- Sending usage counts can be turned off separately in settings.
- The account and what is attached to it can be deleted from within the app.
- For other access, correction or deletion requests, write to (to be decided). Requests are verified by device identifier or sign-in e-mail before they are acted on.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
9. Changes
Changes to this document are announced in the app and the version and date are updated. Material changes ask for your agreement again.
